About

My name is Joyce and I’m an 18-year-old food enthusiast and student majoring in food science at Cornell. I tend to have trouble adhering to recipes, and quite honestly, life guidelines too. I bite my thumb at a lot of things. I’m not about fussy recipes with fresh truffles and sturgeon caviar. I’ve never even tried either of the two. My approach to food is like my approach of life. Make stuff taste and feel good. How it gets to feeling and tasting good doesn’t matter that much, as long as it’s not illegal.

So you’re probably thinking: she writes a food blog, she studies food…does this girl even have a life outside of food? Um, kind of? I’m really just a major dork who loves to eat and spends every second of her life thinking about it. Outside of food, I love all things nerdy/geeky. I think British sit-coms are hilarious, I love science fiction and cartoons, and quirky gadgets and gizmos send my heart aflutter. Oh, and movies in black & white, vintage camera effects, and family-run anything.

Mostly, I love to laugh, I love my friends, and I love my family.

    Hi Joyce,

This blog is lovely! I hope you don’t mind, but I posted a link to it on my own blog. Can’t decide if I should try tortillas or falafel first…

Thanks so much, Molly! And I absolutely don’t mind at all, thanks!
Haha, I know I’d cave and make both and then wrap the falafel up in the tortillas.
Either way I hope you like whatever you choose!

  • Joyce,

Your blog is lovely. Reading your piece about starting was quite touching. I think everyone feels this way. I certainly did, and still do sometimes. I look forward to reading as you continue. Our taste in recipes is quite similar. Best wishes!

Thank you so much Laura, you can’t imagine how much your words mean to me.
I noticed that too! And I am absolutely floored every time I read your blog, the photography is absolutely amazing and I love how you write.
I’ve been itching to try your hand-pulled cotton candy recipe, and hopefully will have a post about that eventually. Thanks again!
